Naugarh Fort

Acquainting either the readers of Babu Devkinandan Khatri's famous novel Chandrakanta or the audience familiar with the television serial Chandrakanta about Naugarh Fort would be similar to lighting a candle to the sun. The river Karmnasha flows in the north-eastern side of the Naugarh fort, located in the south-east of the Geruvatwa mountain. The fort is full of metal and mineral waste, along with remains of furnaces. Witness to the immortal love story of Princess Chandrakanta of Vijaygarh and Prince Virendra Singh of Naugarh, this fort is renowned for the legends associated with Chandrakanta. The remains from about 3000 years ago testify the ancient history of this site.
