Considered the originator of the Aghori sect of Shaivism, Baba Keenaram was born in Ramgarh village of Chandauli district. An Aghori ascetic, he was believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He has mentioned the principles of Aghor in his works Viveksara, Ramgita, Ramrasal and Unmuniram. Baba Keenaram’s Viveksara is said to be the most authentic treatise on the principles of Aghor. On his birth anniversary, a huge crowd of devotees from all over the country and abroad gather at his birthplace.
